The former Florida and NFL quarterback was invited to speak to Real Life Church in Clermont, Fla., and thousands attended the event Sunday. Many wore their Gators jerseys while others donned jerseys from his various NFL stops.

He also brought up the fact that there was some divine intervention during his playoff win against the Steelers. Starting for the Broncos, Tebow threw for 316 yards and averaged 31.6 yards per completion. In addition, the Steelers’ time of possession was 31 minutes and six seconds and the ratings for the game peaked at 31.6.

After the January 8, 2008 BCS Championship Game, where he played quarterback for the Gators while wearing “John 3:16” on his face, he was told by his crew that 94 million people googled the verse online.

“God can take the little things we do and make them big,” he said.

Tebow played for the Broncos, Patriots and Eagles but finished his sermon by talking about the best team he’s played on.

“It matters whose team you’re on. … As a Christian, it’s pretty awesome to have God as a teammate,” he said. “With Jesus on your team, you have a lot to offer. When we bring what we have and match it with who He is, miracles happen.”
