ESPN reported Sunday that the former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback is signing baseball bats and balls. If you want one signed, it will cost $175 for a bat, and $125 for a ball. They’re available through TD Autographs.

The 29-year-old Tebow, of course, announced last week he wanted to try his hand at a baseball career, and he plans to hold a workout for Major League Baseball teams later this month. But those autograph prices seem a bit extreme for a player who is at best a longshot to make the majors. A quick check on eBay Sunday afternoon showed a bat signed by Willie Mays available for $169.99, and a bat from fellow Hall of Famer Hank Aaron going for $189.99.
Maybe the novelty of having Tebow’s autograph on a ball or bat will make it a rarity. Personally, we’ll take a Mays or Aaron bat.
